EDC is the abbreviation of “Everyday Day”. Everybody does some sort of EDC, I can’t leave the house without your phone and wallet in your pocket, can you? Well just something as simple as a phone and wallet are considered an EDC. They’re the things you check your pockets for before you head out the door, the things you feel naked without, and the things that would throw off your whole day if you had to do without them. Your everyday carry is comprised of items that you find truly essential.
What should I have in my EDC?
Phone: Cellphones are used by everyone nowadays, you may use your phone on a daily basis for work or to just check up on the latest news. Phones have many great features from taking photos, Taking Notes, Flashlight, to the time and now most phones even have wallets on them!
Wallet: Wallets keep our cards, IDs, cash and other important things organized and are on your person daily. The wallet is an important thing to carry although it could be devastating if it gets stolen or lost, depending on what you are carrying inside of it.
Keychain: Keys are used to open and close things that are of value to us. Keys are used to lock and unlock many things such as cars, houses, and safes. Using a keychain helps keep all of your keys organized and reduces the risk of losing a certain key. The same thing goes for a keychain as does the wallet, it could be devastating if the keychain gets lost or stolen, depending on what keys you carry on it.
Knife: Many people carry a knife on them everyday, due to the many things you can use it on.
When used responsibly, a knife safely handles cutting and slicing tasks — usually better than a house key, a pair of scissors, your hands, or even your teeth can. There’s certainly no app for breaking down a box or slicing some food! A Knife can also be used for self defense purposes, if you are being attacked you cant fight back efficiently with a wallet or a phone Also, all of our knives at RavenCrest Tactical come with glass breakers on them, glass breakers could be of great use if you get in a car accident or witness one and have to break a window quickly.
Gun: A gun is a very important part of many peoples EDC. Not everyone has the ability to carry a gun on them due to their state laws, or if they are not legally allowed to own a gun. Carrying a gun on you has an important purpose… Self Defense. Many mass shootings can be stopped if a good citizen uses their gun on the attacker before they carry out the shooting. You never hear bad stories about good people who carry a gun on them. Just having a gun on your person can make you feel safe in today’s cruel world. Before you start carrying a gun make sure you look at your state laws here: https://www.gunstocarry.com/gun-laws-state/
Multitool: The multitool is used for quick fixes, tinkering, and other handy work, having a toolbox’s worth of functionality in a single pocketable tool is invaluable. Common multitool functions include pliers, screwdrivers, bottle openers, scissors, and other cutting tools.
Watch: Sure, you can keep track of time by checking your smartphone, but then you’d have to go through the trouble of pulling it out of your pocket. This can come off as rude, especially with company around. Dedicated watches are beautiful in their own right, but they help you keep track of time without depending on short-term phone battery life while always being one flick of the wrist away.
There are many other things that people carry on them everyday! What is your EDC?
