The Engima’s purpose built chassis has curves in all the right places. The butt end of the Enigma is home to the infamous retention ring which allows for not only weapon retention under duress but also for advanced flailing & spinning techniques. When the Karambit is closed and the blade has not been deployed it can be used as a less lethal or pain compliance tool.
The button features sharp details and smooth action while being less obtrusive in your pocket. The Enigma OTF Karambit comes standard with a right side carry removable pocket clip. While in the pocket indexing the retention ring makes for lighting fast consistent deployment. The Enigma OTF Karambit is a knife you’ll never want to be without.
The Engima’s D2 Steel blade is reminiscent of a tigers claw staying true to its ancestral roots. Slashing, stabbing and hooking are all available at just the push of a button.
What is a Karambit?
The karambit is a multi-use knife designed for user safety, precision, and efficiency. Karambits have a curved or hooked blade, an ergonomic handle, and typically least one safety or retention ring. With a design that’s thousands of years old and tons of old world charm, most karambits are quick to draw the eye. They’re sleek, built for a purpose, and time tested. When it comes to every day carry (EDC), knife combatives, and self defense, few blades have the karambit’s long standing history of success.Karambit History
The precursor to the modern karambit first surfaced in Indonesia during the 11th century as a farming tool and utility blade. Due to Indonesia’s thriving trade industry, the karambit quickly spread throughout Southeast Asia. Eventually, the blade developed strong roots in Malaysia and the Philippines, where it was used as a defensive and backup weapon and for every day chores. Over thousands of years, the karambit became entrenched in the warrior culture. It’s now an iconic weapon associated around the world with the Southeast Asian martial arts of silat, eskrima, and kuntao. Karambits have been around for nearly 10,000 years.Karambit Design
While a traditional karambit’s exact design may vary slightly depending on its exact geographic origin, a karambit will always have a curved blade reminiscent of a tiger’s claw or a talon. The blade should be optimized for tearing, ripping and slicing. The handle should be designed for stability and a secure grip, even in sub-optimal conditions.
All RavenCrest Tactical OTF knives are extremely safe to operate and use.
RavenCrest Tactical OTF knives come with a built-in safety that will not allow the blade to fully deploy if anything is obstructing its path. Once in “safety mode” the blade will need to be reset by pulling the blade all the way into its locking position making it fully functional again.
What Is “Select Series”?
The Enigma double action OTF (out the front) Karambit is part of RavenCrest Tactical’s “Select Series” of knives. “Select Series” knives are premium knives with a focus on fit, finish, materials and attention to detail.

Mat Kuwitzky –
Hands down the most comfortable and easiest to use knife I have ever owned. Sharp AF right out the box. I true masterpiece of engineering. My new favorite knife!!!

This knife is amazing! Excellent craftsmanship and beautiful to see in action. I can smoothly draw and deploy with either hand in about the time it takes to blink. Another great blade from Ravencrest. Now I just need one for both hands:)

My first OTF knife and first RavenCrest purchase, and I am quite impressed. The blade is definitely sharp, and I’ve been pleased with how well it keeps its edge despite whittling on hard woods and deboning joints so far. I did have a small issue balancing the screw tightness, but they held true to their warranty fixing the problem. I have a new favorite knife and intend to visit RCT for more knives in the future.

This is my second knife from RavenCrest Tactical and I absolutely love it. Purchased the first knife over four years ago and it’s still holding strong. I just wanted this new Karambit (Enigma) design as part of my EDC “Tools” for work. It feels great in the hand and the blade is crazy sharp out of the box. Keep up the awesome work!

Karambits have long been my favorite carry knife due to my martial arts training. My previous carry was the Fox with it’s wave open feature. I was skeptical if an OTF blade button activated could compare and was quite pleasantly surprised. (Wave draw can fail occasionally and is awkward to deploy if it does) the Enigma’s action is smooth fast and easy. nearly as quick as the wave draw and 100% reliable. Retraction is much easier. Side note is that deployment is optional which I like, since the handle is solid enough to add weight and grip to your fist. The precision and quality of construction is first class and the blade is perfect. The finger loop fits even my XL hand perfectly (have had problems with cheaper Karambits) Would not hesitate to recommend Ravencrest to any Knife user or collector. Pretty sure I’ll be adding a spearpoint OTF in the near future.

Just bought my second Ravencrest knife at AZTOA last week. I wanted the Warncliff blade, but none were available. The female rep took my info and 4 days later a warncliff blade and disassembly tool arrives in the mail. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!. 5 min later it is all set up. An Enigma karambit will be my next purchase, but I have to talk them into increasing the finger hole size.

I was a bit skeptical of the brand as someone who owns OTFs from Benchmade, Microtech, Dalton, and Piranha. I thought I would be getting a typical non-U.S. zinc alloy otf that I would probably return in disappointment. I have to say I was wrong! Great lightweight, aluminum construction (ala Microtech ) and strong double action firing and retraction. It feels great in the hand and quite frankly, there’s nothing else out there like it. I would recommend one to anyone, including knife snobs. The folks at RaveCrest I spoke with on the phone before ordering were great guys, especially Nate! Thanks guys for showing me something out of the mainstream knife world that surprised an old school fellow like me!

I love this knife it’s like carrying a razor blade that can also puncture with ease. Light weight and fires like a 🚀

I’m new to the OTF scene but nothing new to karambits. I have several quality karambit knives (Emerson, Fox, Caswell’s Provoke and fixed blades from the Philippines by knife makers there to name a few) and I’m in love with this knife all around, the quality is on par (if not succeeding) with big names in karambit makers and pays homage to the ancient knife used by the Filipino people for thousands of years. The lightweight construction stood out to me and the double action is nice and crisp. It is comfortable and balanced in the hand. The edge out of the box was razor sharp out of the box.

My first RavenCrest knife, Enigma OTF.
Love the look of this one, pretty badass looking, fires and retracts hard and fast every time. I’ve had it in my pocket since the day it arrived, and have used it steadily testing it out and waiting for it to fail, a month later it still has not had a misfire or failure to retract. Compare this to my $410.00 Benchmade Infidel, which started failing to retract before I even got it home after buying that one, it has constantly failed me with every couple ‘fires’ whereas this Ravencrest Enigma, is still working 100% after a month of daily pocket carry (pocket lint and OTF’s usually don’t mix well). Very impressed by its functionality so far and that gives me a lot more confidence when it comes to spending my money on more knives in the future.
What I would love to see is a reversible pocket clip, I’m left handed and this knife is a dedicated righty. I’m adapting to how a hook a finger in the loop though to still draw it from my left pocket. It’s “do-able” but not as fast.
Also, I found the entire knife to need more aggressive jimping or stippling, It felt quite slippery in my hand so I got some Talon Grip tape (rubber) for a pistol and just cut some shapes out to cover about 80% of the knife and now it is a perfect grip texture. Really amazing difference especially for a knife that’s pretty much made for fighting.
Besides those two additions I’d like to see changed, I’m super impressed with this knife and have zero regrets for my purchase. I’m really liking it. Thanks RavenCrest for the outstanding discount as well. Much appreciated!

I love my karambit OTF knife. The problem with other karambit folders is the bulk, which is not a problem with this knife. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s even remotely interested.

First Ravencrest purchase. Enigma Karambit OTF. I was skeptical with the Price Point, and not knowing the brand however I always want something different, new, 1st of it’s kind, or Rare. This Knife hits all of that. It has solid construction as expected from the machine shop that builds this knife is known for. Clean internals, yup opened her up to see the curved spring slide. Awsome work there Ravencrest! I buy in the $200-$500 Range, and my be slightly expectations when it comes to a tight lock up, so believe me when I say that the Lock up is the 4 star part, everything else is a 5* finish. Picking up a Reaper shortly. Thankyou Ravencrest! Great customer service as well. One thing Ravencrest pleade put Serial numbers on your high end pieces it adds to the fun of collecting something!

I bought the Karambit and they sent me a used knife. It had wear marks on the trigger, the blade, the pocket clip was dangling, it was a disgrace. I send them an email literally 5 minutes after I received the package from Fed Ex with pictures. I was told they “somehow” missed it in quality control and was going to send a new one out immediately. that was a few weeks ago and they haven’t responded to my last multiple emails. I spent $200 for a ravencrest instead of a competitor that was half the price because I wanted quality and instead I got a used banged up karambit and lies. Thanks Ravencrest, real class act. I’d stay away. Let’s see if they delete this review or not. If they do I’ll update it every time I remember. This kind of online behavior is unacceptable.

Very happy, had a slight blem issue with the first one that was sent so I contacted customer service and they sent another brand new one that looks and works perfectly. one out as a replacement immediately.

Truly wonderful knife. Excellent defensive weapon. This is the one I would recommend to any woman that isn’t comfortable carrying a firearm. This definitely evens the odds.

Just got my Karambit today. Trained with a lot of different types. This one was fantastic. Recommend getting the Training blade. I practice and it’s safer. Easy to swap out the training for live blade and vice a versa. Great quality. This version makes it a lot easier to deploy from EDC. Great weight and Balance. Since it’s automatic allows many more techniques. I love this Karambit. Can’t wat for Ravencrest to come out with serrated blade. This Auto Karambit opens up techniques for non lethal striking techniques. Ravencrest you have a customer for life fast delivery and great service
Gregory Yee (verified owner) –
You have to come out with a serrated blade option!

Very nice and smooth action on this OTB – Out The Back, as it were for any karambit. Looking forward to the lifetime, best-in-class warranty which was a huge selling point.
Squishy288 –
Great knife, super sharp out of the box and hold the edge very well. The deployment is very reliable and also the knife itself is very light (in a good way) making it easy to fling around your finger/do tricks with like any other karambit.

Absolutely love this knife. Bought this and the Zhanshi and both are part of my EDC. It’s solid, but still very lightweight and well put together with a smooth action. If you’re on the fence about purchasing this, don’t be. I’m only upset that I waited so long to get one. I recommend these guys to everyone I work with without reservation.
Will 100% order from them again.
