When it comes to a hard use tool like the Mini Zhànshì, ergonomics are everything. The Mini Zhànshì handle shape strikes the perfect balance of form and function becoming an extension of the operator when in use. The Mini Zhànshì fits comfortably in forward, reverse, and scythe grips. The modern “Tire Tread” textured grip on the handles keeps the knife firmly seated in your hand while performing chores. Jimping is strategically placed around the handles to give you added grip while your fingers are wrapped around the knife. The curved Tanto blade in the Zhànshì is stunning and reminiscent of a traditional Japanese Tanto blade with a few modern enhancements including jimping along the spine of the blade and sharp lines leading into its armor piercing point.
Details that matter.
We have redesigned the button (trigger) for better grip and position when deploying the blade. The button features sharp details and smooth action while being less obtrusive in your pocket. The Mini Zhànshì pocket clip makes for a fast draw and easy retrieval whenever you need to put it to work. Other fine details include a “battle tested” glass breaker and sleek screw design to complete the Zhànshì’s distinguished look. RavenCrest Tactical OTF knives come with a built-in safety that will not allow the blade to fully deploy if anything is obstructing its path. Once in “safety mode” the blade will need to be reset by pulling the blade all the way into its locking position making it fully functional again.

I have owned Ravencrest OTF knives for over ten years and this one is by far my favorite. I ordered a Cerakote Mini Zhànshì (Warrior) OTF Knife (Sniper Grey) – “Select Series” – Tanto Non Serrated on August 30,2023. I was delighted to receive it in seven days. It was packaged securely with classy internal packaging.
The tool opens and closes smoothly and crisply. When the blade is extended, blade wobble (both vertically and laterally, when viewed with edge down) is minimal, particularly in an OTF design. Fit and finish is exquisite, although the cerakote finish is beginning to wear off on the edges of the scales (it is an EDC for me). The ground cutting edge angles were of consistent angle between the left and right faces of the cutting edge. The only complaint is that the sharpness and finish of the cutting edge is not up to my expectations for a razor sharp and polished cutting edges, without residual sharpening tool marks. I’ll be fixing that in short order.
