OVERVIEW
The Perfect EDC.
The Mini Covert Reaver OTF Knife is a Mini fully automatic double action OTF (out the front) Knife that comes standard with CNC aviation aluminum handles. Purpose Built.
The ergonomics of the Mini Covert Reaver are in a word… perfection. The center tapered handle on the knife keep the OTF firmly in hand while performing cutting stabbing chores. Jimping is placed along the spine of the handles to give you added grip while your fingers are wrapped around the knife. The Mini Reaver also features extra front end texture for increased finger grip. You can choose from our Tactical Kwaiken, Spear Point or Tanto blade styles.
Details that matter.
The button features sharp details and smooth action while the blade is being deployed. The Mini Covert Reaver pocket clip is deep carry making it more discreet when carrying. Other fine details include a “battle tested” glass breaker that has been reduced in size to keep it more discreet and concealable while carrying.
All RavenCrest Tactical OTF knives are extremely safe to operate and use.
RavenCrest Tactical OTF knives come with a built-in safety that will not allow the blade to fully deploy if anything is obstructing its path. Once in “safety mode” the blade will need to be reset by pulling the blade all the way into its locking position making it fully functional again.

I’ve had my Mini Covert Reaver for about 3 weeks now and I still can’t help but play with it every day. My initial impression was good, as the fit and finish of the knife are on par with much more expensive competitors. The fitment of the button was very tight but its operation was smooth. The lockup of the blade was also very good. Having both cheaper and more high end OTF knives, the blades lockup was as good as some of the more expensive brands. There is very little play in any direction. The blade was sharp, but not shaving sharp. That is pretty common with new knives, as even higher end models will require a final edge be put on, so that wasn’t a huge issue for me. the clip and glass breaker are smaller in profile so they are more easily concealed. The clip is also very stiff, which is good so I don’t worry it will just fall out of my pocket. The jimping/serrations on the body are also a nice touch as they add much needed grip.
My only complaint (which was temporary) is the gritty feel of the action. The instruction note there is a break in period as you need to deploy and re-deploy the knife several times to get it to smooth out. Eventually with time, and a good cleaning the action smoothed out. I bought a T6 Torx driver to take the knife apart for cleaning and discovered the parts at the ends of the spring were very rough (sand?) cast and that’s where most of the grittiness came from. All of the other parts and hardware were smooth. I believe if these parts were stamped or utilized a better casting this knife would be on par with the higher end brands.
From the factory I would say these knives are high-midrange, right below high end. After sharpening the blade, cleaning, and working the action smooth, I would put this knife up against my M*******h UTX-85 any day. Most complaints online about this knife are about the D2 steel but for the average user they will never notice a difference. I will be purchasing more knives and recommending them to everyone I know.
