The RCT-1 Raven Double Action Out The Front Knife features a 440c Stainless Steel blade with a two tone matte black finish. The Tanto Blade can be quickly deployed with the ambidextrous sliding button. Pushing forward on the button deploys the blade out the front of the handle and pressing backwards on the button retracts the blade back into the handle where it is ready again to be deployed at a moments notice. The 3.9″ Tanto blade comes with an aggressive partially serrated edge giving you tearing and cutting power making it a great all purpose blade. The Tanto blade is exceptional at both piercing and slicing due to its angular shape and tapered spine which creates a strong point. The Zinc Alloy is “rubberized” and patterned for non-slip handling in any environment. The metal pocket clip is reversible and can be carried in the button back or button front positions. When clipped into the pocket it has a nice low profile “ride”. The end of the knife features a glass breaker pommel designed to shatter glass or break anything else you might need to in case of an emergency. All RCT OTF Knives have a safety feature that will not allow the blade to fully deploy if anything is obstructing it’s path. The blade will then need to be reset by pulling the blade all the way into its locking position making it again fully functional.

Excellent knife! The RCT-1 Raven is well built and just feels good in your hand. The Tanto blade came very sharp out of the box. If you are looking for an OTF knife you will not be disappointed with this one. Raven Crest customer service is outstanding.

I bought this knife at a gun show never having heard of Raven Crest. I have many OTF autos to compare it to – Microtech’s Combat Troodan, Piranha and several others. The RCT-1 Raven compares very well with the Combat Troodan. They are almost identical in size. The RCT-1 Raven is a little heavier, but it is half the price. The button slide is easier to activate than the Microtech. The only thing I don’t like about the knife is the rubberized grip. It’s feels great in the hand when gripping it tightly while in use, but pulling it out of the pocket creates a real drag. Only a problem if it is needed very quickly. Otherwise, extremely happy with the knife. To the point I’m looking at trying out the Reaper.

I was looking for a high-quality OTF knife for over a year, passing on the poor quality knives. I came across Raven Crest Tactical knives and I could tell just by the feel & action of the OTF RCT-1 Raven that they are well made.

Yes, you will have to pay a little more for this quality, but not a ridiculous amount that is way out of proportion.

    Quality: 9.5/10
    Price: 5.7/10 (but worth it)

The best quality OTF knife available. I’ve been using my “RCT-1 Raven” daily for nearly 2 years. Fine knife and works every time I need it with minimal maintenance. Comes with a no BS outstanding warranty that can’t be beat. I strongly recommend the product line!

I found this knife being sold at a local gun show in Texas. I was impressed with the action and solid feel. I’d been looking for an automatic for a while, but price kept me away from many others. This RCT-1 Raven fell right in the proper range, and I just had to have it. After asking a few questions concerning the warranty, I asked whether or not a spring had ever given out, and if that was covered. The nice lady selling them said it was absolutely covered, but they had never had one returned for a bad spring. So… getting back into the truck after leaving, I pulled out the RCT-1 Raven to remove the zip tie from my carry gun(gun show that doesn’t allow CHL, go figure), and something snapped in the knife. It wouldn’t reset no matter what I did, and there was a rattle inside. After popping onto the website, I found how to clean the knife, which showed takedown steps. Got home, followed those steps, and found the problem. The very first loop of the spring had snapped off where it was attached to the internal “catch”. This was a new knife, and I didn’t want to spent the time waiting for warranty repair, so I did it myself. Since it was only the very first coil of the spring, I decided to just make a new loop from the next coil, crimped it down good, re-assembled, and it worked like a charm! No issues since. I would hope this doesn’t void the warranty, but a knife shouldn’t break day one. Still a solid knife by all other accounts, and would recommend to others.

I just received my RCT-1 Raven Tactical Knife and am seriously impressed! I wanted a knife that was masculine and heavy duty – and I got one! I like the weight, the feel in my hand, and the blades fast action – simply incredible! One of the reasons I purchased a Raven Crest is the lifetime guarantee and blade sharpening. I am a Viet Nam Veteran and would have liked to have this knife in combat as a back-up to my bayonet. Raven Crest makes a high quality knife and I am proud to own one.
Thank you for designing and manufacturing a solid knife.
    Sincerely,

    Keith (Texan)

Ditto what Keith said above, including the Vietnam vet part. I did carry a Ka-Bar knife in the Marines while serving in Vietnam, and I own one today. Your Tactical knife has become my favorite pocket knife in my collection of about 12.

Thanks for your service to our once great nation, Thomas Hanks! I appreciate your comment. The USA has to get militarily strong again! Glad you like your Ravencrest Tactical Knife as much as I do. I carry it every day – even when wearing my business suits. Stay strong and stay vigilant! Keith

    :

I purchased a RCT-1 Raven and so far love it. I have had it over a week. I constantly fire it and watch to see if the movement gets sluggish. So far so good. I modified the clip a bit to fit my lifestyle more. I love the grip and feel of it in my hand. I am a lefty so when I clean it i have to remove the clip because I swapped it to other side. I like the fact I can use with either hand. I was on the fence about purchasing one. I watched the vs car torture and was sold. Great product.

Here’s the skinny on this knife, absolutely love the Nemesis drop point in satin that I ordered and use everyday. To anybody that asks, I always recommend this knife for the ease of use and its internal simplicity. For those knife snobs who are bawling over the fact these parts are as they say “cheap” Chinese made, obviously don’t have experience with weapons from Norinco or Polytech which are some of the baddest commie guns ever made. Yeah a Benchmade, Microtech or HK would be a great knife but like any serious tool with springs they are ALL going to break eventually and RCT is the ONLY company to offer replacement springs and unconditional lifetime warranty for their OTF knives. The knife truly is tank tough from what I’ve found and I would gladly take their customer service, serviceability with replacement parts, and lifetime warranty ANYDAY over a $400 infidel or $300 ultratech that will leave you high and dry when parts break and happens all the time. Would love to see in the future replacement springs for the locking tabs to make this knife completely user serviceable, but other than that this knife just outranks any other OTF on the market in reliability and simplicity.

There’s an old saying (You Get What You Pay For) in this case, I recived much more then I could ever pay for…I now own two Ravens and looking for my third,I have owned many automatic knives in the past, but my Raven is hands down the best money I have ever spent,,, No let me take that back,,, It’s the best money I have ever invested…Thank You for building a great tool…

It’s time to stop wasting money! I use knives countless times a day. I’ve had this knife for over 3 months I was waiting for something I did not like I finally gave up they win, nothing major. After a few days I had to use red thread lock to hold the clip from getting loose. Other than that the knife is still supper sharp, strong and reliable! I’m proud to carry this knife Every day!!!

Knife is well built but heavy and it does not hold an edge at all. I have to sharpen it after very use. Overall I am happy with the knife.

I purchased my knife I think sometime in December 2015 and I’ve been very pleased with my purchase. A couple of days after I recieved it, some chipping on the finish began to come off and I’m very careful with all my knives. The spring action and the blade have been very good and the clip is very strong. I made the mistake of going to the beach and forgot to remove it from my pocket. Afterwards the knife didn’t want to spring open anymore. I called customer service and they were very helpful and asked me to send it back and they would inspect it ASAP. I can’t wait to get it back. I litteraly have this knife either on me or close to me at all times. Great Job Raven Crest Tactical.

This is an amazing knife. Strong open and closing lock up. Feels great. A very solid well built knife. I love it. And can’t wait to get another.

This is the best knife that I ever owned. When they say built tank tough. That’s exactly what they mean. I’ve had all kinds of knives over the years. But this is the most incredible knife I ever had. Being able to design your own knife is also a great feature. I got the digital urban camouflage handle with a double edge blade. Half straight & half serrated, spear tipped. The demo video sells itself. You haven’t started ordering it one, why?! Worth every penny.

NO I DON’T WORK FOR THE COMPANY OR AM I GETTING ANYTHING OUT OF THIS. JUST BEING HONEST.

Received my RCT-1 alone with the mini RCT in one of the Fathers day packages. (Thanks for the Skittles!!)
A little while back, I bought the Titan Bravo NS and that knife is an outstanding value.
The fit and finish of the RCT-1 are very good. Blade play is very minimal and the action is very smooth.
I ordered this one with the spear point NS. As with the Titan, my only complaint would be blade sharpness.

Over all a very solid, well built knife and after a few passes on the sharpener…. you can shave with it.

    10/10!
Did a lot of searching on otf blades before buying my rct-1, and I am very pleased with it. Was on the fence between the ravencrest, the hk epidemic, and the benchmade infidel, but knowing I get a lifetime warranty with Ravencrest sold me. I carry this knife everyday and never had a fail to fire. Also the weight is nice, reminds me I’m not holding a Chinese POS. I constantly show it off to all my friends and coworkers and they love it too. I highly recommend this knife. Thanks RC!

I have many knives as I used to deal firearms and knives just came along for the ride! Plus I love everything mechanical, I’m an electrical engineer and ex auto-mechanic/shop teacher.
I love the Raven, its tough, sharp and reliable, but two things could be better!
First, I’m a runner and carry the knife in the middle back pocket of a mtn bike shirt. The glass breaker started wearing a hole in my back! I guess I will find a flat screw in my considerable nuts & bolts collection to deal with that but maybe a little snap on plastic cover from Raven Crest would work?
Second, the weight. I know that many of you seem to like the weight and maybe for taking down a maddened mtn. lion or whacking a perp in the head or busting glass, this weight is a plus, but I like a lighter weight pistol along with a lighter weight knife that doesn’t drag my pocket down. My Microtec Combat Talon or Emerson folder with Titanium liners have the weight I like!
